Carols Rivage Beach

The beach's location is good, but the hotel's handling of towels and the lack of clear communication regarding wristbands upon check-in does not meet the standards of a 5-star establishment. My two teenagers were unaware that the wristbands needed to be returned and mistakenly treated them as gifts, resulting in the loss of a couple of them. This miscommunication could have been avoided if I had been informed about the need to return the wristbands, and I would have made sure to share this information with my children. As someone who travels extensively and works in event and tour management, I am deeply disappointed by the service provided. Additionally, having to pay extra to replace the lost wristbands only adds to my dissatisfaction. I strongly urge you to reevaluate these flawed procedures, as people come to Matrouh to relax and have fun, not to be subjected to unnecessary control. We are not attending a school camp! Even your staff members appear unhappy, which speaks volumes about the hotel's management style. This has not been the enjoyable vacation we had anticipated, and I will always remember the negative experience I had before leaving. It's not about the money; it's about the overall concept and the way things are handled.

The beach and its location are absolutely stunning. However, the management system is extremely disappointing and the staff are not friendly. The food and beverage options are of poor quality and lack diversity. The WiFi is non-functional throughout the entire property, including the rooms and public areas. The security measures are severely lacking. While the location is fantastic, they really need to improve their personnel in order to provide the necessary comfort for a family vacation. Unfortunately, the service does not meet the standards expected of a five-star establishment.

Carols Beau Rivage Hotel, located approximately 30 minutes from Mersa Matruh military airport, pleasantly surprised me. The sea boasts a beautiful color, and there are occasional spots with grass, although not particularly extraordinary. Personally, I found the beds to be uncomfortably hard, almost like sleeping on wood. Additionally, the food service was not to my liking, as you have to select your desired items and inform the cook, who then places it on your plate. However, I understand that this precautionary measure is in place to combat food waste and prevent undisciplined visitors from touching the food. Despite these aspects, my stay at the hotel was comfortable. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, always enjoying my jokes and wearing a smile. The rooms were clean, as were the restaurant and other areas. I highly recommend staying at Carols due to its reasonable price.

This hotel experience was absolutely terrible! The rooms were not cleaned at all, insects were crawling everywhere, and despite booking a room for three people, there was only a single bed. The cooks were incredibly rude and served cold food with very limited options. The room furniture was old and there was only one shelf in the closet. The towels were not clean and there was only one tooth cleaning kit provided for a room meant for three guests. And the list of issues goes on and on. I strongly advise against staying in this hotel. It is overpriced and the service is extremely poor.

This beach destination is quite expensive considering the level of service provided. The facilities are outdated, but the beach itself is the main highlight with its pristine, crystal-clear water. However, beyond that, don't anticipate anything beyond the quality of a three-star hotel. The room lighting is inadequate, and the shower in the bathroom has drainage issues that may lead to flooding. The towels are worn out and have an unpleasant odor. The food is hit or miss, and there are no options for sugar-free drinks. Additionally, both the rooms and public areas lack WiFi, as they informed us. All in all, I cannot recommend this place to anyone.
