The hotel itself is very nice and the food is good. If you enjoy snorkeling, these are probably the best beaches you'll find on the island.
However, the service at the beginning was poor. We were ignored at the reception in favor of foreign tourists. When someone finally spoke to us, they told us to wait and then forgot about us. Instead of making us feel welcomed, the lady started talking about her life.
In the restaurant, a waiter directed us to a table, but then another waiter stopped us and said we couldn't sit there. He was bringing another couple to our assigned table. I had to explain to him that the first waiter had already given us that table.
When I asked for a teaspoon (which was not available in the restaurant), one waiter told us to ask another. And when I asked another waiter, he told me to ask yet another one...
Some days, the waiters were vulgar with each other and did not display the professionalism expected in such hotels. On other days, the service was fine.
At the Grand Port restaurant, the plates were not distributed well across the room, and often, there was a shortage of cutlery or glasses at the counters.
