Located on the Atlantic coast, this beach is known for its rough waters due to the location. Unfortunately, it is also plagued with the infamous brown algae that accumulates on many beaches. Despite the daily efforts to clear it away, the algae remains persistent. However, there is a charming beach bar located near the former Westin resort, which now primarily serves as a time share location. While the hotel's restaurants are closed, the ocean views make for a lovely backdrop while enjoying drinks by the pool. However, swimming and snorkeling are not recommended here. Many have commented that the beach was much better before the impact of Hurricane Irma, as evidenced by older reviews showcasing a dramatically different and more appealing Dawn Beach. It is important to take note of the dates on these reviews.
