Long beach

It's a wonderful spot for fishing or simply strolling along. You can relax on a bench and enjoy the view of the shore. It's truly peaceful.

After paying our $2 fee to access the pier (a total of $20 for our group), we were treated very rudely by the lady. We had arrived early to Oak Island and were looking for something to do while waiting. Unfortunately, there were no signs indicating that there was no public access to the beach. While my friend and I sat on the pier, our teenage kids enjoyed themselves on the beach. The lady observed as they used the restroom to change for the beach but didn't say anything. At one point, my daughter also used the restroom. We stayed there for about an hour and eventually decided to leave. However, when the kids came to get us from the pier, the lady refused to let them pass through. She was extremely impolite and warned us that our car would be towed if we didn't leave. Despite not leaving immediately, she came out to escort us off the pier. She then proceeded to inform us that we were only allowed there if we were fishing. I tried to explain that we had simply misunderstood, as we were not familiar with the area. However, she showed no concern and insisted that we leave. We had planned to return the next day to let our teenage boys go fishing, but after this experience, I have no intention of going back. While I understand not being allowed to walk through with sandy items, I have never been treated so poorly by a business owner.

If I could rate this beach, I would give it zero stars. We paid $2 to access the pier and use the restrooms. Inside the building, there is a beach entrance that we easily went through. However, when we tried to return, we were repeatedly harassed without any explanation, claiming it wasn't a public access point. Despite there being no sign indicating this, she eventually allowed us onto the pier. Then, the lady became rude with my family and refused to let us go back through, even though we had paid for that privilege. She continued to harass my entire family and eventually let us out through a gate instead of the building. If this is how the pier operates, there should definitely be a sign. We will not be giving any more money to this pier. It's absolutely ridiculous.

There's a fantastic small bar located inside the beach area, offering a great selection of draft beers. You can enjoy a refreshing beer while strolling along the pier, which provides breathtaking views. Additionally, there are plenty of fishermen around.
