The beach is not very deep, but if you walk out a bit, you can have a proper swim. Watch out for rocks (it's best to enter in the middle of the beach), but when we visited, the water was clear enough to see them and avoid them. There are adorable baby elephants in the sea that you can interact with and take photos with (for a fee). There are plenty of beach restaurants and bars to relax in, most of which are part of resorts. What's great about this beach area is that the main road behind the beach is easily accessible on foot, giving it a small beach village feel with more restaurants, a walking street market, and bars. The sea itself was somewhat clear and warm.
