Even driving a car can be challenging due to a barrier that needs to be ducked under. It is not recommended for inexperienced bike riders to embark on this journey alone. Furthermore, it is best to avoid this route when it is raining or if there is a forecast for rain. It goes without saying that night-time travel is not advisable. It is also worth noting that wearing flip-flops may not be the most practical choice. Overall, it is difficult to think of many circumstances where this road would be a good option. Despite all of this, the beach itself is worth visiting and deserves five stars.

Overnight stays are only possible for those equipped with camping gear and 4x4 vehicles. The road leading to the beach is treacherous, and only accessible by a 4x4 or on foot. Attempting to reach the beach on a motorcycle is not recommended, as the road conditions are much worse than they appear. If you're up for an adventure, you can take a motorcycle halfway and then continue on foot. But, for a safer and more enjoyable experience, trekking to the beach is the best option. This hidden gem is a true testament to the beauty of nature, and a must-visit for those seeking a secluded and peaceful getaway.

Reaching this destination is not for the faint-hearted and requires a certain level of motorcycle expertise and courage. I would advise against attempting the drive if you have rented a 125cc bike with narrow tires. The primary entrance to the trail features a warning sign indicating that the road ahead is hazardous and to proceed with caution, which proved to be an understatement. The road begins with a small stretch of pavement, but it quickly deteriorates into loose gravel and deep ruts that are created when 4x4s drive through it when it is wet. It necessitates a lot of patience and skill to navigate as safely as possible. At times, your back wheel skids as you descend almost vertically, and you must concentrate hard and pump the front brakes. Before turning off onto another sandy path that leads to the beach, this trail is about 2 kilometers long. This is preferable, but it is still dangerous in some places and not particularly pleasant. However, once you arrive at the beach, you are truly in paradise. There were a few brave souls and a couple of Thai fishermen, but other than that, you are alone on an incredible beach. It is difficult to justify the journey due to the risks involved in getting there, but the reward is quite spectacular, and you will be treated to some awe-inspiring scenery (along with the obligatory plastic and COVID debris strewn about the area).

Wai Chaek Beach is undoubtedly the most breathtaking and stunning beach on Koh Chang. It can be effortlessly located on Google Maps, but reaching it can be quite challenging as the only way to access it is by traversing a rough, unpaved road. I highly suggest using a 4x4 or a sturdy motorbike as the road can be steep and treacherous in certain areas, making it unsuitable for inexperienced riders. It's also essential to carry adequate supplies such as water, food, and other necessities as there are no shops, restaurants, or restrooms in the vicinity. Despite these challenges, the beach's unparalleled beauty makes it a must-visit destination.

This shoreline is a true treasure, with barely any visitors except for a few locals who come here for work. The path leading to it may pose a slight challenge, but it's manageable with a scooter as long as you have some experience riding one. The destination is certainly worth the effort, though.
