Talpona Beach is a serene and stunning destination that caught me off guard with its pristine beauty. It's a hidden gem in Goa, located in the Canacona region, 7 km away from the popular Palolem Beach. This beach is known to be a nesting ground for Olive Ridley turtles, and the northern part of the beach is protected as their nesting grounds, earning it the nickname Turtle Beach.
Located in the southernmost part of Goa, Talpona Beach is about 56km away from Colva and 54km away from Margao, the cultural capital of Goa. Like most beaches in Goa, the best time to visit is during the winter months from October to March, when the weather is pleasant and the seas are calm. Even in the summer, the beach is still a great place to be despite the heat. However, during the monsoon season, the beach is less frequented due to rough seas with dangerous undercurrents and unpredictable weather.
