Banana Beach

The beach experience was unpleasant due to the unfriendly and arrogant behavior of the staff. As soon as we parked our scooter in an available spot, an elderly man on a scooter approached us and yelled, pointing towards another area. Confused by his rude and unclear command, we waited momentarily, wondering what he meant. The man then returned and proceeded to lecture us on how things are done at the beach. While his request to park elsewhere would have been reasonable, the lack of respect shown towards us, as guests, was completely unacceptable. In response, we decided to leave and instead enjoy the nearby beautiful beach. It's disappointing to encounter such unpleasant behavior.

I would advise against visiting this beach, taverna, and hotel. This place poses a safety risk as the owners, who are an extremely aggressive family, create an unpleasant environment. In the restaurant, you'll find an elderly woman who is the owner and is known for her aggressive behavior. Her son, who works as a waiter, has been reported for dishonest practices such as adding items to the bill that were not ordered or altering prices on the card. Unfortunately, due to their aggressive nature, customers are forced to pay for these unauthorized charges. Behind the bar, you'll encounter the second son, who is also aggressive and poses a potential threat. It is evident that their main focus is solely on extracting money from tourists, as they harbor a strong dislike towards them. It is disheartening to see that such individuals negatively impact Greek tourism, as many tourists may choose not to return to Greece after encountering such experiences. On a positive note, just a short distance away, there are three beaches managed by friendly owners, offering the same beautiful views.

I really enjoyed this private beach. The umbrellas are of high quality, unlike the plastic ones you often find. The sand is absolutely perfect, and the sunbeds are easily movable. The prices for an umbrella and two sunbeds at Plaka beach are lower than at the other beaches nearby. There is a family restaurant available where you can order food directly on the beach. The food was delicious, and the owners were incredibly kind to us. Just a heads up, there are no lifeguards present. On windy days, it's important to be cautious of the rocks on the right side. If you get too close, the current will pull you towards the area behind the rocks where there is no beach. I witnessed around 10 people struggling to get out of there in just one day, but fortunately, with the help of others, they managed to escape. Some even resorted to climbing the rocks. I believe this applies to all areas where rocks are present and have a different current surrounding them. However, this issue has nothing to do with the beach itself.

It's a decent beach for capturing some great photos, but not really suitable for spending an entire day or for those looking to swim.

I would advise against visiting this beach as it may ruin your day for no good reason. The customer service here is the worst I have ever encountered in Greece. It is quite a distance from the city center and also more expensive than advertised. We were greeted by an aggressive and rude manager who does it all who preferred to kick our family of 2 adults and 3 children out instead of welcoming us to the beach club and tavern. All we did was ask him some questions and express our concerns about his behavior. The kids were not being loud and we simply went to the grass beds first before heading to the beach, as we had plans to eat at the tavern later. The manager showed no interest in listening to our intentions and was rude to us from the beginning, only focused on getting as much money from us or making us leave. His only justification for this was that he is the manager, it is private property, and he can kick us out whenever he wants because he does not like or want us there.
