Myrtos beach

We were fortunate to visit the beach on a day when it had rained just prior to our arrival. As a result, many people had left, making it nearly empty, including the parking area. Additionally, the beach is easily accessible.

This beach is absolutely amazing with its stunning white pebbles. The waves can be quite strong and tall on certain days, making it a bit challenging to stay close to the shore. It's highly recommended to wear water shoes to enhance your experience. The scenery is also breathtaking as the beach is backed by a sloping mountain side and the water has a beautiful color. It's definitely one of the top three beaches in Kefalonia.

The beach is quite spacious and pleasant. The water is a lovely shade of blue, although it's not ideal for snorkelling due to poor visibility. The waves are perfect for lying back and letting them carry you. Additionally, the food is quite tasty. To get there, we caught the 13:00 bus from Argostoli and returned on the 17:00 bus. It costs around €5.3 per person each way, and taking the bus is a better option than driving. The bus drops you off right by the beach.

This stunning beach boasts a breathtakingly clear turquoise sea that is a sight to behold. Our visit in early June revealed a serene atmosphere, however, we noticed it was the busiest of all the beaches we visited, so we anticipate it will be much livelier during peak season. The descent from the main road to the beach is quite lengthy, but there are parking spaces available at the bottom. We recommend arriving early during peak season to secure a spot. The beach is quite spacious, allowing for ample room for visitors without feeling overcrowded. The scenic drive down to the beach offers picturesque views that are worth stopping for and capturing with your camera. Despite its popularity, the beach has a remote feel due to the limited facilities available. However, there are restrooms and refreshment options available.

This beach is excellent and ranks as my third favorite in Kefalonia, following Petani and Antisamos. The water is magnificent and the beach is long, providing ample space for everyone. There is a cantine on the beach that serves snacks and coffee, and sun beds are available for 10-15 euros per pair plus an umbrella. I recommend getting a sunbed as the pebbles can be quite hard if you lay on a beach towel. It is important to buy a wasp stick in case you encounter any of them, as they have multiplied in the area. Parking can be difficult in Myrtos, so I advise going early in the morning to secure a convenient spot close to the beach. It's definitely worth it to go early. Regarding the wind, it's important to check the weather forecast before visiting Myrtos. The wind can be strong and swimming may not be possible or even dangerous.
