Loutraki Beach

The beach is absolutely stunning with its pristine waters and serene ambiance. It's a perfect spot to catch breathtaking sunsets and indulge in some paddleboarding from Marathi beach. The accessibility is great as it can be easily reached by car and offers free parking, showers, sunbeds, shade, and a handful of tavernas to grab a quick bite. The crowd is minimal, making it a peaceful retreat to unwind and soak up the sun. Overall, a must-visit spot for beach lovers seeking a tranquil escape.

This charming little bay beach is an absolute gem located just a short 30-minute drive from Chania old town. It's a true haven for swimmers, offering crystal clear waters that are simply breathtaking. We were lucky enough to visit on the very last day of summer 2022 and were greeted with a stunning blue sky that perfectly complemented the beach's natural beauty. Despite being towards the end of the season, we had no trouble finding a spot to relax on the sunbeds. While there were a few fish swimming around, they were harmless and added to the beach's overall charm. The small cafe on the beach was a welcome addition, offering refreshing cold drinks and tasty snacks to keep us fueled throughout the day. Overall, this beach is a must-visit for anyone looking for a peaceful and picturesque retreat.

This charming beach boasts ample parking space, mostly shaded by trees to keep your car cool on hot days. The water is crystal clear and the sandy beach is flanked by rocks on both the right and left sides. Two businesses offer sunbed rentals, one located directly on the beach and the other, Mare Nostrum, situated on a grassy terrace to the right. We were delighted to find that we could enjoy two sunbeds and an umbrella free of charge at Mare Nostrum, simply by purchasing something from their bar. The food was delicious and the prices were reasonable, especially considering the complimentary sunbeds. Direct access to the sea is available via stairs at Mare Nostrum, and the view of Souda island from the beach is breathtaking, particularly when approaching from Chania.

The vast bay of this beach is ideal for unwinding and taking a dip in the refreshing waters. During our visit, the overcast weather kept the crowds at bay, allowing us to enjoy the serene atmosphere. However, the resort located on the right side of the beach played loud music, which was quite bothersome. Besides that, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at this beach.

This stunning beach boasts crystal clear waters that are sure to take your breath away. For a small fee of 8€, you can enjoy the comfort of two seats while soaking up the sun. And if you start to feel peckish, there's a convenient snackbar nearby. However, if you're hoping to spot some exotic marine life while snorkeling, you may be disappointed as the seabed is primarily composed of sand. Nonetheless, this beach is a must-visit for anyone seeking a serene and picturesque escape.
