Beach Cemetery

The beach is peaceful and serene, but it is important to note that there are stones both in and out of the water. During my visit, the sea was a bit rough and murky, possibly due to the weather conditions. However, overall the beach appeared to be well-maintained and clean. To access the beach, it is recommended to park your vehicle outside the cemetery and follow a short path to the left. At the end of the path, there are some rocks that require caution when jumping as the access is not entirely smooth. I have included a photo of these rocks for reference.

My experience at the beach was delightful until an unexpected encounter with a priest. As I was enjoying my swim, the priest appeared out of nowhere and claimed that I was a spirit who needed to return to my grave. Despite his bizarre statement, I urge you not to be deterred from visiting this beach. It has been my go-to spot for 125 years and remains a cherished location for me.

Accessing the beach can be a bit of a task as the footpath to the left of the graveyard is not clearly marked. However, once you reach the beach, you'll find warm and clean waters perfect for swimming during the season. Snorkeling may not be the best option as the water can be murky. The beach is a favorite among locals.

I haven't had the chance to visit the beach itself, but I've passed by it while driving on the main road to Paralio Astros.

The beach is absolutely stunning, but it can be a bit tricky to find. Once you exit the main road and take the turn, keep an eye out for an opening in the cemetery on your left-hand side. This will lead you to the path that takes you to the base of the hill. It's recommended that you wear shoes, as the last meter of the path requires some jumping, sliding, or descending. If you plan on bringing equipment like a stage or speaker, it's a good idea to bring a small ladder as well. The beach itself is sandy with some stones at the highest point. The first five meters of the sea have some large rocks that slide into the sand before it gets deeper. There's no shade, so it's best to visit during the afternoon hours. There's also no lighting, so keep that in mind if you plan on staying late. It's a fantastic place to relax with few people around, or to have a wild party after midnight where you won't disturb anyone. However, if you're intoxicated, be careful as it can be difficult to climb back up the hill.
