Hauru Beach

The beach is an excellent spot for snorkeling with calm water and plenty of fish. Although the coral may not be as vibrant as other areas on the island, it is still worth checking out. Additionally, there are showers available for use.

The beach was stunning and we had the pleasure of spotting some Rays and even a black tip shark. However, it's important to note that despite the presence of a security guard at the entrance, some locals still managed to steal a bag from the beach while we were there. My recommendation would be to visit this beach, but exercise caution and only bring necessary items. It's best to have someone stay with your belongings on shore or take them out into the water with you.

Our visit to Moorea French islands was quite unpleasant due to the high level of vandalism and theft. It is not a safe place to visit alone or with family as we experienced an attack by about 20 young boys who attempted to rob us. Unfortunately, we were not the only ones who faced this situation as other visitors also reported similar incidents. Despite this, we did enjoy our time at the beach during the day, but the problem arose in the afternoon when we left.

The beach was great and offered some good snorkeling. While it's not particularly unique to find good snorkeling in Moorea, the beach itself was pleasant and had convenient facilities and showers for rinsing off. During our visit in a slower period and amid COVID, the beach still filled up quickly, so it may be difficult to find a spot during peak tourist season. Nonetheless, it's definitely worth checking out!

We decided to hit the beach for some snorkeling and swimming, since it was the closest to our tender dock and easy to locate - only a 10-minute taxi ride towards Sunset Beach. It definitely lived up to our expectations! When we arrived around 9 in the morning, there were only four people snorkeling and the beach was practically empty. However, it got busier as more people arrived off the ship, since it was the most convenient and accessible option. We even had the pleasure of hearing three locals singing while we were there. If you walk just five minutes away from the beach, you'll find a small shopping and restaurant area, as well as a few other hotels. We spotted a couple of sting rays and the coral reef was nice, with plenty of fish. While it wasn't the most spectacular beach we've ever seen, it was definitely worth the visit!
