This beach is a true gem, with its natural beauty still intact. Regrettably, when we visited during the rainy season, the sandy shoreline was quite limited. Nonetheless, I highly recommend this beach over the more well-known ones, as it is much more serene and less congested. A definite thumbs up!

Our adventure began at Jaffna Nallur Residence, where the proprietor kindly organized a tour of the district's highlights for us. We were pleased to find that the area is well-protected, with security personnel present, and there are comfortable benches located at convenient intervals for taking a break and admiring the scenery. Additionally, parking is convenient and free of charge.

The Akkarai Beach is a true gem of Jaffna area, offering a picturesque and serene atmosphere that will take your breath away. The beach is impeccably clean, making it a must-visit destination for anyone in the area. Situated near Thondamanaru, the beach boasts a sandy bottom that is about a meter deep and stretches out fifty to sixty meters away, making it an ideal spot for swimming enthusiasts. After enjoying a refreshing dip in the sea, you can rinse off with fresh water wash available on the beach. The security guard is a friendly and welcoming presence, and it's highly recommended to support him financially to show your appreciation. However, it's important to be cautious and avoid swimming in the sea when the waves are too strong. Overall, Akkarai Beach is a remarkable destination that deserves to be kept clean and enjoyed by all.

Additionally, there are no hotels or dining options available in the area. Despite these drawbacks, the beach offers a tranquil and peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
