This tranquil beach provides a breathtaking panoramic view of the sea, sun, birds, boats, and dunes. Unfortunately, there are no amenities such as food, lodging, or water for travelers who come from afar. However, a few Tamil and Sinhalese-speaking civilians reside in the area. To fully enjoy the ride or tour, it is recommended to use an off-road vehicle due to the sinking sand and damaged roads.
There are several other attractions in the vicinity, including a fort built by the Portuguese to safeguard their possessions in Jaffna, which was later captured by the Dutch. Sand dunes offer an exhilarating off-roading experience, while birdwatchers can spot an array of sea birds, kites, hawks, and more. The beach is also an excellent spot for private camping, but it is essential to bring all necessary supplies.
Other nearby attractions include Upplavan Lagoon, perfect for bird watching, Pallukudu marshy land, and an oil palm plantation. At the end of the road, visitors can enjoy a stunning view of Jaffna town, Jatty, and a church.
