Wonderful stroll through the dunes leading to Sker beach. Perfect for children, with opportunities for rock climbing and plenty of off-leash dogs. Enjoyable walk to the point, with lifeguards stationed at one end. The beach remains spacious and open even when the tide is in.
We enjoy taking a stroll around Sandy Bay, especially the dunes, which our little dog absolutely adores. It's incredibly serene there. Additionally, there's a cozy cafΓ© nearby where you can grab a bite to eat and enjoy a quick cup of tea near Trecco Bay campsite.
This beach in Porthcawl is probably the best one they have, mainly because of its large size and stunning bay views. Out of all the beaches I've been to, this is the one I've spent the most time at. It provides a more peaceful and enjoyable experience, with clearer waters compared to Sandy Bay.
Trecco Bay holiday park to Merthyr Mar is a great beach for dogs all year round. Although it's not the best for swimming, the best sandy areas can be found near the rocks when the tide is out.
What a magnificent spot! Unlike some of the other beaches in Wales, this one isn't too crowded, so you can really relax and soak up the sun. And if you need a break from the sand and surf, there are toilets and refreshments conveniently located near the car park. Speaking of which, parking is available for just Β£5, and they even accept cards if you don't have cash. Just keep in mind that the lower car park only has a limited number of spots, so you might need to head to the overflow area. But don't worry, there are plenty of spaces there, and you can still catch the sunset if you remember to move your car before the gates close at 8pm. And the best part? This beach is the perfect place for a picnic on a gorgeous day.
