This shoreline possesses all the necessary elements for an outstanding beach experience, but unfortunately, it has been overrun by commercialization, which has transformed the public space into a mandatory rental of beach chairs. The Romanian Riviera is plagued with exorbitant prices and a lack of regard for customer satisfaction. The once-charming locale is now plagued with unkempt beaches and unsightly streets, with children begging for money and blaring music that is both inappropriate and obnoxious. Prices are merely a suggestion, as evidenced by the fruit stand where I was taken advantage of by a deceitful salesperson who overcharged me. It's no wonder why even Romanians prefer to visit Bulgarian or Greek beaches instead.
The beach is quite lovely with its fine sand, and in comparison to Mamaia's beach, it stands out. Since the construction of the cliff protection dam, the waves have been less intense. I highly recommend visiting this beach.
I visited the beach and was struck by its stunning beauty. However, my enjoyment was short-lived as the entrance to the sea was riddled with rocks and shells, leaving no room for sand. Additionally, the water temperature caused the shore to be overrun with seaweed, which was never cleaned. To make matters worse, the prices were astronomical. A single umbrella cost 100 lei per person, which was exorbitant, especially since the beach is public. Despite being a group of six, including two children, we opted to use towels instead. However, staff members approached us and demanded payment for the umbrella, which was illegal. To add insult to injury, the toilet cost 5 lei, and a half-liter bottle of plain mineral water was priced at 10 lei. The path leading to the beach was also dusty and perilous, with rocks that could easily cause injury. In conclusion, I cannot recommend this beach for swimming due to the terrible experience I had. However, it may be worth visiting during the off-season for a romantic walk or a photoshoot. The only redeeming quality of this beach was the children's playground, which was free and sponsored by Lidl. Despite this, I will never return to this beach due to the poor service, exorbitant prices, and lackluster swimming experience.
The beach is well-maintained and tidy, but it lacks a vibrant party atmosphere. Additionally, the entertainment options for children are too far away, making it difficult for families to fully enjoy their time here. The stairs leading to the beach could also use some improvement as they feel rough and unfinished.
