This hidden gem of a beach town is perfect for those seeking a peaceful and authentic experience. With a focus on surfing and scuba diving, it's a haven for adventure seekers. What sets this spot apart is its lack of tourist crowds, allowing visitors to truly immerse themselves in the local culture. Overall, a highly recommended destination for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of typical tourist hotspots.
This beach is fantastic and the locals are incredibly friendly. The only downside is the lack of water, as the nearby rural aqueduct only provides a small amount. However, we were fortunate enough to come across some cabins called PatiΓ±o, where the man who helped us had access to water and saved us from having to search for it ourselves.
This coastal gem may not be for those seeking a bustling party scene or posh restaurants, but if you're after a tranquil retreat surrounded by nature, look no further than Torio. This secluded beach town is still largely undeveloped, inhabited by local fishermen and farmers, as well as a growing community of expats dedicated to sustainable living. While the road to Torio is currently under construction, a sturdy 4x4 vehicle will ensure a smooth journey. It's also important to stock up on supplies beforehand, as the nearest supermarket and ATM are located in Mariato Town. But for those seeking a peaceful escape and leisurely strolls along the beach, Torio is a must-visit destination.
