Stunning beach with a touch of greenery

This beach in the Auckland area is one of our favorites! It has a wide sandy beach with a walkway and biking path nearby. Behind the beach, there is a grassy area with shade trees, benches, and seating perfect for picnics. It's a fantastic spot for swimming or paddle boarding, and there is even a boat dock. Across the street, you'll find Vellenoweth Green, a large park with plenty of open grass for activities or family gatherings, as well as some iconic huge trees.

What can I say? The experience is consistently uplifting. I always feel a strong connection with nature. The surrounding areas are pleasant, and the people are friendly.

We enjoy visiting the beaches in East Auckland, including the serene Howick Beach. In december The beach was pleasantly uncrowded, allowing us to fully appreciate the peaceful ambiance and the gentle ocean breeze. If you find yourself in the vicinity or reside in East Auckland, we wholeheartedly suggest paying a visit to this charming beach.

Waiomanu Beach is a hidden gem in East Auckland. My husband and I watched the sunrise there in Jan 2024. The beach is incredibly beautiful and tranquil, with hardly anyone around. We highly recommend watching the sunrise at Waiomanu Beach if you live in Maraetai or are driving by.
