The locals firmly believe that the Varahaswami temple, located beside the Souparnika river, serves as the sole protection for the villagers from the onslaught of heavy rain and storms. Additionally, this spot is conveniently located near the village of Padukone, which is renowned for being the birthplace of the legendary badminton player, Prakash Padukone, who also happens to be the father of the talented actress, Deepika Padukone. In addition to the beach, you can also feast your eyes on breathtaking views of the mountains and other small islands that surround this area.

Whenever I find myself in Karwar, I make sure to visit this beach at least three times a week - it's my absolute favorite. The sunset here is always breathtaking, but unfortunately, the beach is not very well maintained. Litter can be found scattered all over the shore. However, there are still plenty of activities to enjoy, including boat rides and Jet Skiing. Sundays tend to be the busiest day, with many visitors flocking to the beach. If you're feeling peckish, you can also find vendors selling delicious kulfi and peanuts.
