The scenery of the hills is absolutely breathtaking, and the water is clean and inviting. It may be a little cool, but not as cold as some other beaches in Normandy. The dark sand is unusual and reminds you of volcanoes. There are two really good restaurants and a café where you can enjoy fries, sausage, and beer. The parking lot is quite strange, but it's very spacious and much quicker to park here than to search for one in Le Havre. And if you're up for some hiking in between swims, there's an amazing panoramic trail that takes about an hour to hike to the top and back to the beach for another swim.
