Wow, this beach has definitely made it to my top 5 list of all time. When it comes to getting there, I highly recommend avoiding Google maps and instead, heading as close as possible to the end of Uakea Road. Once you park on the edge, keep an eye out for the trail. However, be aware that the walk can be quite challenging, so make sure to wear sensible shoes and bring enough adults to accompany any little ones.
Once you reach the beach, you'll notice the small red gravel that covers the shore. However, as you step into the water, the texture becomes much finer. One of the highlights of this beach is the incredible pool that lies behind a rock wall. It's perfect for swimming and even jumping into! During my visit, there were around 20 people sharing the beach with us, including a nudist couple. While I wasn't particularly interested in seeing them in their birthday suits, it added a unique element to the experience.
