Although handling animals or flipping rocks is not permitted, the creatures are often visible if you remain still for a moment. If you are fortunate enough to visit on a weekday, parking is readily available within a few blocks, and the crowds are scarce. The optimal time to visit is at sunset, when the sun descends behind the ocean's horizon.
