One of the highlights of this area is its seclusion. When you arrive on the island, you'll notice that houses and businesses are tightly packed together. However, as you approach this park, the surroundings become more serene and natural. Eventually, you'll forget that there's a bustling city nearby.
I was slightly disappointed with the beach. If you're searching for seashells, this isn't the ideal location. I didn't spot a single one. I've heard that Little Shell and Big Shell beaches are the go-to spots, but a four-wheel drive vehicle is necessary to reach them by crossing the beach to the south.
I was genuinely saddened by the amount of trash that had washed up on the beach as well. It's not the beach's fault.
After my time on the beach, I decided to explore the small trail just inside the park's entrance. It was a pleasant paved trail surrounded by dunes and grasses. I even caught sight of a coyote not too far away. We had a moment of observing each other before it carried on with its journey.
