Pine Island beach

Our family stayed at the beach over Labor Day weekend. Normally, we rent a place in the OBX for a whole week, but this time we didn't have that much time. We didn't know what to expect for our stay, but we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel staff was incredibly helpful, friendly, and always quick to respond to any of our needs. Our room was located on the first floor and had a patio, which made it very convenient for walking our dog. We enjoyed having lunch on our patio every day. The hotel had a total of four pools and a hot tub. One of the pools and the hot tub were indoors, while outside there was a kiddie pool, a regular pool, and a lazy river with tubes. There was plenty of seating and tables with umbrellas for us to enjoy our meals outside. The beach was just a short and easy walk away, and it never got crowded even when the hotel was full. This was especially great for us with little kids and all the gear we had to carry, as it made our beach days very easy. The hotel provided a full breakfast every day, and the options changed daily, which was a nice touch. They also had coffee, tea, and hot cocoa available all day, and every night they served warm chocolate chip cookies. We would definitely choose to stay here again!

We had a wonderful experience during our stay at the beach. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, which made us feel delighted. Our room was spotless and the breakfast was enjoyable. The proximity to the beach was fantastic, and we thoroughly enjoyed the well-maintained pools. Without a doubt, we will return in the future.

The hotel is located right on the oceanfront and offers a beach service where you can rent umbrellas and chairs and charge them to your hotel room. The rooms were a bit worn and outdated, but they were very clean. The hallways had some wear on the carpet, but they were always clean and smelled fresh. The pools outside were great, but the outdoor areas, including the outdoor tables and the ground/concrete around the sitting areas, were all very dirty. Throughout the week, we noticed very old cigarette butts on the ground that were not cleaned up. There were also weeds and grass growing in the cracks on the pool deck (specifically the lazy river side). I'm not sure why the outdoor areas were not cleaned properly. This was the most noticeable and biggest complaint I have about this hotel, and it's the reason I couldn't give it 5 stars. Overall, we would definitely stay here again. I believe we received great value for the price we paid.

Pros: The beachfront hotel offers complimentary breakfast, rooms with swivel TVs, multiple pools, and a friendly and helpful staff. It is also not overly crowded. Cons: The hotel's maintenance is lacking, with rust present throughout the room. The shower curtain rod is loose and hanging off, and the soap bottles bolted to the walls are also hanging off. The sliding door screen is missing a wheel, making it difficult to open without removing the entire screen. The walkway to the beach is completely covered in sand, including the benches, which can be slippery and dangerous, especially for older individuals. The room is not entirely dirty, but it doesn't give off a clean appearance, so we took it upon ourselves to sanitize it. Housekeeping only came in to dispose of trash and replenish towels, without changing the sheets or thoroughly cleaning. Our non-ocean view room was placed above numerous HVAC units that ran constantly, making it impossible to relax on the balcony. The free breakfast provided was mediocre and lacked flavor. Additionally, the rooms are outdated. Overall, if you are simply seeking a place to rest your head and are not concerned about maintenance, appearance, or cleanliness, this hotel is suitable. However, due to our dissatisfaction, we decided to check out a day early and will not be returning.

The beach has a great location and the complimentary breakfast is a big advantage. Although the facility is clean, it could use several upgrades, like a fitness room. Considering the property's location and atmosphere, it would be a wonderful addition to have complimentary water available in the hotel lobby. Unfortunately, the water machine in the fitness room was often out of order. The front desk staff appears to be quite busy, taking care of their responsibilities but seeming too pressed for time to engage in friendly conversations. Additionally, many of the outdoor furniture near the pools had spider webs.
