During my 3-night stay at the hotel, I was absolutely delighted! The hotel boasts exceptional decor featuring a mix of local and international art, making it a truly captivating place in itself. The hotel staff are welcoming and accommodating. Just step outside, and you'll be greeted by the breathtaking beauty of the Solway Coast, offering a plethora of interesting places to explore, scenic walks, and various activities all within a short drive. I highly suggest taking the walk recommended in the room information booklet, but exercise caution with children and pets as there are a few risky spots along the cliff top.
The prices for food and drinks are a bit on the higher side (averaging £9 per drink for 2 bottled beers and 2 glasses of wine). While the dinner menu is somewhat limited, the dishes are well-prepared and nicely presented. Vegetarian options are a bit scarce, and I was disappointed by the use of packaged ham in a ham and cheese sandwich, which I found to be of poor value. However, breakfast was enjoyable.
My room was spotless, organized, and secure, with a comfortable bed. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel as a base for exploring the Solway Coast or simply for a relaxing weekend getaway.
