This Suffolk beach is charming with shingle as its main feature, but also offers strips of sand for some variety. It's a peaceful beach, especially if you walk a few minutes up or down the coast. To the south, Thorpness is a reasonable walk, while Dunwich Heath and Dunwich are a bit further to the north. All of them have tea shops to recharge before the walk back. Alternatively, you can make a circular walk via the surrounding countryside. However, the two nuclear power stations cannot be ignored, as they are now part of Sizewell. The beach is dog-friendly, but please remember to bring poop bags and clean up after your furry friend. A small fee of only £1 for a couple of hours is required for parking.
