Cawsand beach

The beach is undeniably beautiful, but to our dismay, we failed to notice that it was a rocky beach with no sand. Our disappointment was palpable. On sunny days, the beach is bustling with activity. The added bonus of having nearby restrooms is a definite plus.

So, we stumbled upon this charming little cove with a beach that was a real gem. It had a mix of shale and sand, rockpools, and was surprisingly peaceful (for Cornwall, that is). It was perfect for families, especially those with special needs, as the disabled access was top-notch. The sea was as calm as a millpond, which made for some delightful swimming. And the best part? There was an ice cream van, bar, cafe, and bakery right on the beach. Plus, the toilets were spotless, including one for those with disabilities. Oh, and did we mention the beach ferry that made a grand entrance? This is hands down the best Cornish beach we've come across for disability access. Highly recommended, folks!

I absolutely adore Cawsand. It's a charming coastal town that overlooks the stunning Plymouth. To reach the village, you'll need to park your car in the designated car park at the top of the hill, as no vehicles are allowed inside the village. The town oozes with authentic village life, which is also shared with Kingsand. There are several delightful 18th century pubs to choose from, each with their own unique charm. In addition, there are a couple of quaint shops to explore. Overall, Cawsand is a tranquil and serene destination that is perfect for a peaceful getaway.

This charming coastal town has picturesque narrow streets and quaint cottages that are sure to delight any visitor. While the beach may be on the smaller side, its natural beauty is simply breathtaking. Conveniently located nearby are free public restrooms and a car park that becomes free after 4pm, with a reasonable rate of 80p for up to one hour. A visit to this lovely village is definitely worth your time.

This beach is a true hidden treasure! It boasts exquisite stretches of sand and captivating rock pools that are just waiting to be explored. Additionally, visitors can indulge in a delicious treat from the ice cream van or rent paddle boards for a fun-filled day on the water. The beach is the perfect size for families, as it's small enough to keep a watchful eye on the little ones yet large enough for them to roam and discover. Keep in mind that parking may be a challenge during peak season, but the experience is undeniably worth the effort!
