The beach has a stunning sea, with both sandy and stony areas. However, this year there seems to be an increase in jellyfish, so it's important to be cautious. The cleanliness of the facilities is decent. They charge 150 TL for two people for sunbeds and umbrellas, but they also charge 5 TL for a 25-second shower. What does this say about their priorities? The biggest issue we encountered was when we brought a disabled guest with us. The response from the staff member when asked about disabled access or fees was disheartening. It's clear that our guest has a disability, and I believe the municipality should address this issue and inform their officials. On a positive note, the Urla municipality has a fantastic and comprehensive program in place for such situations, so information can be obtained from there.

I recently went to Karakum. The beach had very little sand in the water, and the temperature was quite chilly. The menu mainly consisted of deep-fried dishes that were not very tasty. Overall, it's not the ideal Aegean coast destination for swimming.

The beach has a rocky shoreline, particularly the shallow area of the water, and there is an abundance of fish. If you are not a strong swimmer and prefer to stay near the entrance, it might be challenging for you. On weekends, parking can be limited, so you might have difficulty finding a space. The entrance fee is 100 TL per person, or 150 TL for two people which includes one umbrella and two sunbeds. However, even if you don't want a sunbed for a third person, you still have to pay 250 TL. The shower costs 5 TL for a 25-second use. There is a toilet located inside the cafe, and the prices for food and drinks are reasonable. Outside food and drinks are not allowed and are closely monitored. Unfortunately, there is no designated picnic area nearby. Despite being managed by the municipality, it is not considered a top-notch location. The sea is calm, and the water is beautiful. The locker rooms were somewhat clean, but I can't be too certain since it is a weekday. Overall, it is a convenient place to hang out, and the route to get there is straightforward.

The beach has a strong smell of fish and the view is quite hazy. The beach is popular and attracts a good number of visitors. The prices for amenities are fair and reasonable. However, it's important to note that the fee you pay for sunbeds and umbrellas does not include access to the showers, which require a separate payment. You are free to use the locker cabin as you please. Additionally, the beach only allows entry for the cafe. Given the poor water quality, the best option is to simply relax on the beach and enjoy the surroundings.
