Marmaris Plaji II

We made a last-minute booking for our holiday and despite the global pandemic, it turned out to be a great experience. When we arrived at 11:30 pm on Saturday, we were warmly greeted by a friendly receptionist who checked our temperature and had us fill out the necessary Covid and sign-in forms. Our room was absolutely amazing, the best we've had in Turkey considering our previous visits. It had a very elegant and French vibe. To top it off, we were pleasantly surprised to find some food (chips and a baguette with ham) delivered to our room, which was perfect after our long journey. The hotel was located on the Marmaris strip, which offered plenty of bars and nightlife, all of which were open. They had two pools, both of which were great and had an abundance of sun loungers, although this may have been due to the current situation. The front pool, situated on the strip, had a bar, while the second pool, which was quieter and didn't have music, had a waterfall and a bar as well. This pool area also served lunch, which was a nice option to have on a few days (burgers, chips, pasta, etc.). The bars were nice, although the cocktail options were limited to Sex on the Beach and Pina Colada. The beer was good, and the mixers were very generous, but they only had Gin, Vodka, and Brandy. Other hotels we've stayed at in the past had a wider selection available. The food was okay, but the selection was not extensive, which could be attributed to the current circumstances, as there were empty stalls at the buffet. There was a nearby McDonald's and shops that we could have visited, but we rarely went to the supermarkets because the hotel had its own shop. The gym was well-equipped and had good air conditioning, which was a relief considering how hot it was during our stay. The activities guy was also polite and offered his assistance by giving us his WhatsApp number and suggesting some great activities. We decided to go scuba diving, and it turned out to be one of the best experiences we've had while visiting Turkey. We would definitely do it again. Overall, I would rate this experience a 4 out of 5, mainly due to the lackluster food. It's worth noting that in Turkey, a 5-star hotel doesn't always meet the standard of a true 5-star establishment. However, it was a fun and relaxing 7-day holiday.

We felt like we had the best hotel in Marmaris. The family room was spacious, and we received a warm welcome from the staff who were incredibly friendly and happy. It was always easy to find a sunny spot to relax, whether it was by one of the pools, on the private beach, or our favorite spot on the private jetty. The food was exceptional, with a wide variety of delicious, fresh, and authentic options. The reception team was efficient and friendly, always willing to accommodate any request. With a party of nine, there was something for everyone. The bar staff were entertaining and never made us wait. Habil, the onsite jeweler, went above and beyond to take care of us and provided valuable advice on local places to visit and what to wear. He truly was a gem of a jeweler! If I ever return to Marmaris, this hotel would be my top choice.

I have mixed feelings about this hotel. The location is perfect, right on the beachfront. It's a nice long walk to the next town or a short walk to the marina. The majority of the staff are really friendly and helpful, and the rooms are cleaned daily. My bed was huge. However, there are a few downsides. The hotel tries to upsell you on various things, which I didn't appreciate. When I arrived at the hotel at 3am, I was woken up at 8am by my tour guide (whom I didn't know I had, as I had booked everything privately) wanting a meeting, only to find out he was trying to sell me excursions. Then, around the pool area, they tried to sell me salon treatments. Lastly, I couldn't understand why they pay the large entertainment man who sits around by the bar doing nothing all day, considering they only provide about 20 minutes of entertainment at 22:15 every night. It seems like a waste of a wage.

The beach has a touch of elegance, but I'm not entirely convinced. The first thing that bothered me was how they immediately started talking about money upon arrival. I understand the need for payments, but it could have been done in a nicer way. Additionally, the parking situation was quite cramped as all the cars were squeezed into a park. They don't offer valet service, so you have to retrieve your car yourself. Since it's an all-inclusive resort, the food was nothing special. It was quite average. They do have evening entertainment, but that's pretty standard for hotels in the area. If you're staying in a room facing the ocean, be prepared for loud noises at night. The music starts at sunset and continues until 1am. It's loud until midnight and then the volume is lowered to a more tolerable level.

I was extremely dissatisfied with my overall experience, rating it a 1 out of 10. The cleanliness of the room and fridge was very poor, as they were both dusty. The room service staff had difficulty speaking English. I called them four times and when I asked if they spoke English, they hung up on me. It's unbelievable that a 5-star hotel would have such a problem. The manager explained that if we lost a card, we would have to pay 20€ euros. This was our first time staying in a hotel and we found this rule to be quite strict. The breakfast was disappointing as they served us old food that seemed to have been sitting for more than 3 days. Additionally, when I tried to take a dish from the buffet, the waiter took it away from me just 2 minutes after breakfast had ended. The location was good, but it was very noisy at night. I had an awful experience and will never go back there. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. If I had the option, I would give it 0 stars.
