Possibly the most grim beach experience of my life - the sand was a coarse, dark grey mix of gravel, dust, and cigarette butts, and plastic. It was unpleasant to look at and walk on, and absolutely not suitable for young children who wouldn't be able to build sandcastles or walk to the sea because of the gravel / stones. The water was clean enough, but that's about the only positive I can say about this place. I had to scrub the black dust off my children in the shower once we got home. All in all, horrendous, and I am utterly amazed anyone would choose to spend time there. If you have young children particularly - AVOID!! The sand was a dull gray color and it was not a pleasant experience.
