Knoetzie Beach is a luxurious area that boasts a handful of castles and private residences, providing an almost exclusive beach experience. One of these castles is owned by the prestigious Pezula Nature Spa and Hotel, frequented by the rich and famous. Access to the beach is granted through two routes: guests of Pezula Hotel can use a back route to avoid the township area, while regular visitors must enter the township at the top of the hill and drive through a 2km stretch of bumpy roads. Despite the unpleasantness of the journey, the area is considered safe and incidents are rare.
Once you reach the other side of the township, the good sand road stretches for approximately 6km and leads to a parking area on the hill overlooking the beach. From there, visitors must walk down a 1km driveway and descend 100 steps to reach the beach. The return trip follows the same path. Once you arrive at the beach, the stunning castles and peaceful atmosphere are sure to take your breath away. A river flowing through the forest adds to the charm of the beach, providing a fun play area for children. However, there are no public facilities available on the beach, including toilets, showers, or picnic spots. Additionally, the beach is not recommended for individuals with mobility issues, as there are no lifeguards and no mobile signals available.
In summary, Knoetzie Beach is a beautiful destination that is worth a visit for its stunning views and serene atmosphere. However, the lack of facilities and accessibility challenges make it less suitable for a day-long visit.
