Las Penitas beach

The sprawling beach is a sight to behold, with its picturesque expanse stretching far and wide. Our visit on a Saturday revealed a serene atmosphere with only a handful of people present. Most of them were surfers, but the beach is also suitable for swimming.

This beach town is truly a gem. Our plan was to only stay for a couple of days, but we ended up extending our stay to 10 days. It was the perfect spot to take a break from all the backpacking we had been doing. The atmosphere was so laid-back, relaxed, and friendly, with the locals being incredibly welcoming. I highly recommend staying at Playa Roca, where you can get a double room for only 20 US dollars per night. The staff is fantastic and the food is delicious. And of course, the beach is an absolute must-see. Additionally, there's a wonderful family-run restaurant right across from Oasis Hostel that serves incredibly cheap but delicious meals. Though the place may not look like much, we found ourselves eating there twice a day every day.

This charming beach is a true gem. However, the presence of litter is a significant concern for me, and it detracts from the overall experience. It's a shame that there isn't a dedicated team to keep the area clean and pristine.

The beach is absolutely delightful and provides a serene atmosphere for relaxation. It is my sincere wish that the natural beauty of this location remains untouched by the influx of mass tourism and the associated negative impacts such as the presence of noisy quad bikes and litter from disposable beverage containers.

I had the pleasure of visiting the Pacific Ocean for the first time and was absolutely blown away by the stunning beach. The waves were incredibly powerful, making it the ideal spot for surfing enthusiasts. We visited during the quieter low season in September, which meant we had the beach almost entirely to ourselves and were able to snap some truly amazing photos. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a breathtaking beach getaway.
