Kuramathi Resort Island

I visited this beach 5 years ago. We have traveled extensively, and I must say, this place is like paradise. It is absolutely heavenly. Upon our arrival, they warmly welcomed us back, offered us a voucher for sparkling wine, and even gave us a complimentary massage at the spa. We had initially booked a basic beach villa but ended up getting upgraded to a deluxe garden villa, three levels higher. Sure, the older accommodations may look a bit outdated at times, but everything you need is there and in working order. The service is exceptional, from the room attendants to the top-notch restaurants. We opted for the all-inclusive package both times we visited. Without it, the cost might be quite high. I am amazed at the size of this island and the number of people on it. Yet, you can stroll hand in hand, barefoot, along the romantically lit beach paths and hardly encounter anyone on your way to or from your villa. I usually dislike going to the same place twice, but my wife convinced me, and now as I sit here writing this, I realize how I had forgotten just how stunning and marvelous this place is. Everyone has their own opinions, and they can vary, but some of the negative comments simply made me laugh. I don't know what some people expect, but I cannot agree with them. I have never taken the boat ride; instead, I opted for the 20-minute seaplane experience, which is an adventure in itself. Kuramathi even has a beautiful lounge at the new seaplane terminal, so the hour and a half we spent there was very relaxing. I would recommend this place to anyone, without a doubt.

The resort and the island were amazing, the food was absolutely delicious, and the staff were incredibly friendly. However, I have to admit that the customer service did not meet my expectations. There were some minor issues, such as communication being done through the TV, which made it easy to miss important messages. Additionally, they abruptly cut off WiFi access at 2:00 PM on the day of departure. The transportation to and from Male was infrequent, resulting in a significant amount of time wasted at the airport. The most disappointing part was when we complained, along with other guests, about one of the excursions not being as enjoyable as expected. The staff claimed to have investigated the incident and found no fault, but right before leaving, we discovered that other guests had also complained and received a 25% refund. While the amount itself wasn't significant, it was the lack of fairness that bothered us. Because of this experience, I will consider choosing a different resort for my next trip to the Maldives.

Kuramathi offers a wide range of amenities and attractions, including serene beaches, safe swimming areas, exceptional dining options, lively bars, delicious cocktails, entertaining activities, scuba diving opportunities, friendly staff, comfortable accommodations, and breathtaking sunset views on the sandbank every evening. Rest assured, you won't find yourself bored here as you explore and enjoy the best of what the island has to offer. During your stay, you will receive snorkeling gear, but I suggest bringing your own goggles, especially if you plan to swim in the beautiful waters on the south side of the island, which resemble an open-air pool. If you plan to stay for more than a week, I recommend starting off in a beach villa and then transitioning to a water villa, allowing you to experience the best of both worlds. The superior beach villas are conveniently located, while the water villas with a pool are in close proximity to the sandbank. For your reference, we stayed in V3 and V9. Opting for the all-inclusive package is highly recommended, although I believe this applies to any of the islands in the Maldives. Oh, and be prepared to fall in love with the Maldives. It truly is one of the most beautiful places you will ever have the pleasure of visiting!

We came to this beach for our honeymoon, and it also happened to be my birthday on the day we arrived. The service was outstanding, with very polite and helpful staff. The food was delicious, and we had a fantastic time. From the sunset cruise to exploring the nearby local island, we had a truly enjoyable and fun experience. I would highly recommend this resort. They even surprised me with a birthday cake. The views were breathtaking, and we stayed in a water villa with a pool, which was an incredible and luxurious experience.

Apart from the island and resort being stunning, there really isn't much to rave about. The service is quite inconsistent and the food quality is mediocre at best. If you have experienced other resorts in the Maldives, I wouldn't recommend giving this one a try.
