Seebad Ossiacher See

I would recommend avoiding the restaurant and opting for takeout instead! The owner of the restaurant is incredibly impolite and disrespectful, and the takeout place next to it serves stale bread from the previous day. Additionally, it seems like the employees at both places dislike their jobs. On the bright side, I really enjoyed the camping experience itself. The facilities were excellent, and I particularly loved the fact that you could borrow a kayak or stand-up paddleboard for free! :) The staff at the reception were also very friendly, and the facilities were kept very clean.

The campsite is quite intriguing. When you visit the Strandbad, you'll find that it's a place where campers and visitors come together, and the toilets are conveniently located in the same building. The children's playground is particularly captivating, with a unique and fascinating water feature. It would be great if there were more shaded areas, as well as larger and more private camping spots. The price is a bit on the high side, but it's worth noting that Austrian campsites are known for being expensive compared to what they offer.

The camping site right next to the lake is really nice! We ended up staying there for 3 nights, even though we had only planned for one. I don't have much else to say, do you? It's a large site with plenty of spaces for campers. When we visited in June, there were many available slots. During check-in, they provide you with a lot of information and even give recommendations on what to see and visit. In the morning, we went on a short hike to the nearby castle. We also visited Villach (draupuls) and everything was free because of the "Erlebniskarte" that allows you to use the train for free. We spent 2 hours at the thermal bath and had 1 or 2 climbing/bouldering sessions, among other things. The camping site was clean and the showers and bathrooms were okay, although the ones for beach guests were more modern. There are two sanitary houses and it costs 3 euros to use the washing machine. There is also a restaurant on-site and you can rent bikes, electric scooters, and boats. The train station is just a short 10-minute walk away. We definitely plan on coming back!

This camp is simply amazing. It is situated right on the shores of Ossiacher Lake, boasting a stunning and well-maintained beach. Additionally, there is a conveniently located train station just a short 5-minute walk from the camp, providing easy access to Villach and various other destinations in the region. The cleanliness of the entire camp was impeccable. The grass was neatly trimmed, and there was not a single piece of litter to be found anywhere. The bathrooms were consistently tidy. The reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

We spent a night at this campground, and it was pleasant. The price for one night was a bit high, but the stunning mountains and the lake surrounding it were absolutely breathtaking. I wasn't particularly fond of the restaurant at the campground, but overall, the location itself was fantastic. I would definitely recommend it.
