ARAWAK BEACH

During our Air Canada flight cancellation due to Tropical storm Phillip, we had a pleasant experience at the Arawak Beach Resort. The staff and hotel manager went above and beyond to assist a large group of stranded passengers. Despite the storm, we always felt safe and appreciated the warm welcome and excellent service provided during our short stay. The resort grounds were beautiful and the rooms were exceptionally clean. I had a stunning ocean view from my room. The meals served were also enjoyable, and the bartender made a strong rum and coke. I hope to visit the property again in better weather conditions. A heartfelt thank you to the amazing staff at Arawak for making our stay great. (Additional note: When we faced a second day of delay, the hotel once again accommodated us upon our return. They remembered our check-in details from our previous stay, making the process much easier. To our surprise, a delicious dinner buffet was quickly arranged for our tired and hungry group. The drinks also kept flowing that second night. Thank you once again, Arawak Hotel.)

I absolutely loved this hotel and I'm disappointed that I could only give it 4 stars. The location is fantastic - right on the beach, in the bustling center street of Gosier, surrounded by restaurants and shops. It's also conveniently close to a boat port, where you can take a short walk of about 10 minutes to reach the beautiful "Islet Gosier" island, which is definitely worth a visit. The hotel itself may be a bit outdated, but the stunning views from both the lobby and the bedrooms make up for it. The only downside is that the mattresses in the bedrooms are quite uncomfortable due to their spring design. The breakfast, which was included in the stay, offered a good selection of essential Western breakfast foods such as fruits, yogurts, breads, pastries, eggs/omelettes, and coffee/teas. However, they didn't provide any sugar alternatives like stevia or equal, nor did they have milk alternatives like almond or soy milk. I had to make a "special request" to the staff, which took them 2 days to fulfill by providing equal and soy milk. As someone who travels frequently, I've never encountered a hotel at this price point that didn't offer sugar and milk alternatives. Nonetheless, the staff was incredibly nice, and I would definitely consider returning to this hotel if I were to email them my requests in advance. It's important to note that Guadeloupe doesn't have the same level of tourism as popular destinations like Jamaica, the Bahamas, or Mexico, so the hotel standards may not be as high. However, the island itself is absolutely gorgeous and definitely worth a visit. I highly recommend this hotel.

1. The staff were very friendly. 2. I was pleasantly surprised when I was upgraded to a room with an ocean view. 3. They provide a Nespresso coffee machine and a hot kettle pot for your convenience. 4. The hotel is located right on the beach. 5. There is a swimming pool available for guests to enjoy. 6. The food for dinner at the restaurant was quite good. 7. The internet connection was reliable and fast. Feedback 1. The air conditioning in both rooms was not working properly (rooms 606 and 605). 2. The hotel has a bit of a dated feel to it. 3. There are no lights in the corridor leading from the room to the elevator. 4. We experienced a few power cuts during our stay.

The beach has an unappealing appearance, it is not well-maintained and there is a lot of noise. The staff is very unwelcoming and inconsiderate. The late-night festivities disturb everyone within a 2 km distance, making it impossible to get a good night's sleep. I strongly advise against staying at any hotel near this beach if you value your sleep.

This place is absolutely awful. They are currently hosting a wedding downstairs, and it doesn't matter how late it is, the loud music prevents both guests and neighbors from getting any sleep. I wouldn't advise anyone to choose this location.
