Nea Chora Beach

While not as famous as other beaches in Chania, this beach is incredibly convenient, located just a short walk or bus ride from town. It's not a party beach, making it a great option for those in their 30s and up. The sand is clean and plentiful, and there are plenty of loungers available for a fee of 5EUR per person. The water is also clean and gradually deepens, making it perfect for relaxing or playing in shallow areas. If you're feeling peckish, there are plenty of taverns and mini markets nearby.

I had an amazing experience at this idyllic beach. My visit was in early September, and although the area was bustling with tourists, I was able to find a vacant sunbed. I highly recommend renting a sunbed to avoid the sand, as the beach is home to a number of feline residents. If you rent from a nearby coffee shop, be aware that outside food and drinks are not permitted, but the prices are reasonable. I spent around 20-25€ on the beach, which included my sunbed rental, a delicious lunch, a snack, and a couple of non-alcoholic beverages. As someone who is lactose intolerant, I was pleased to find that I could bring my own coffee in a thermos without any issue. If I ever return to Chania, this beach will undoubtedly be my first choice.

If you're seeking solitude, you may want to explore other options. Nonetheless, this beach is easily accessible and stretches a considerable length, providing ample space for visitors to relax and enjoy the sun. There are both paid and free areas available, with the former costing around 8-10€ for an umbrella and two sunbeds. Additionally, every restaurant on the beach offers free restrooms for patrons. You'll find a wide range of lunch and dessert options in the area, all at reasonable prices.

This lovely beach is situated along a picturesque riva and boasts a plethora of restaurants and a bustling market. The eateries offer reasonably priced sunbed and sun umbrella rentals, as well as refreshing drinks and tasty snacks served right on the sand. The water is crystal clear, although occasional large waves may bring some debris ashore. This sandy beach features shallow water near the shore, making it an ideal spot for children and non-swimmers. It has earned a blue flag designation and is patrolled by a vigilant lifeguard. While there may be superior beaches in the vicinity, if you happen to be staying nearby, this beach is sure to satisfy your seaside cravings.

The beach is really nice and has mostly sand without many stones. Additionally, there are many restaurants along the strip that serve great food. The sunbeds are reasonably priced at around 4 euros each and don't have a time limit, but there are also areas where you can lay down with your own towel or beach bed.
