Paralia Agiasmata

One of the most picturesque beaches in the vicinity of Chios is waiting to be explored. Its stunning scenery and breathtaking views are sure to leave you in awe. So why not take a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and indulge in the natural beauty of this remarkable beach?

Although I can only give this location a rating of two stars, my visit to this beach will forever remain a peculiar memory. As I arrived, a fierce storm was brewing, accompanied by gusts of wind. Aside from an elderly woman and her dog, the area was completely deserted. The playground was abandoned, and the remnants of a once-thriving port lay rusted and forgotten. A few kilometers down the road, dilapidated houses stood as a testament to the area's past. Paralia Agiasmata on Xios will forever be etched in my memory as a ghost town, fit for the backdrop of a horror film. Perhaps my timing was unfortunate, and a visit during the height of summer, when the sun is shining, would be more enjoyable for others.

We were fortunate to arrive at the beach during a calm time, and it was truly magnificent. The initial 2-3 meters of the shoreline are covered in thick stones, but beyond that lies soft sand. This can be a challenge to discern when swimming in rough waves, which is typical of this beach, and requires careful attention from those who dare to enter. Overall, this is a tranquil beach that is not outfitted with amenities, though there are a few fixed umbrellas that provide much-needed shade and a cafe located above that offers essential refreshments. The real highlight of this beach, however, is the breathtaking sunset that is truly one-of-a-kind.

The beach is a perfect destination for those who appreciate unspoiled natural beauty. Located in the northern region, it boasts a picturesque landscape with pebble-carbon shores that are perfect for swimming, especially when the south wind is blowing. The beach offers a serene atmosphere with only a few umbrellas and a wheelchair-accessible bar, which adds to its charm.
