We spent a week at Areti in September and it was an absolute delight. After discovering the campsite, we knew we wanted to go there and after a few email exchanges, we were able to find a week when they had availability and booked it.
We stayed in a charming wooden cottage with a view of the sea. The cottage had all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay, including a private toilet, air conditioning (which we didn't need to use as there was a pleasant breeze in the evenings), and an outdoor kitchen that brought us much joy. There's nothing quite like sipping a morning coffee while gazing at the ocean and listening to the birds sing.
The campsite is filled with delightful scents of pine, laurel, and eucalyptus trees. The gardens are meticulously maintained and it's a pleasure to stroll through them. Of course, the true natural gems are the two private beaches. They are stunning, peaceful, and sandy, with warm and tranquil waters perfect for swimming all day. The abundance of beautiful fish makes it an ideal spot for snorkeling.
All we wanted from this vacation was to relax, swim, and read, and we were able to do all of that while enjoying the delicious food from the restaurant. Each night, we had the pleasure of ordering the daily special along with a side dish or dessert, wine, and a cup of tea to finish off the meal. The prices were reasonable and the service was impeccable.
The campsite also has a small market where we could purchase fresh fruits, vegetables, bread, eggs, and other everyday essentials. Their olive oil is absolutely incredible.
The campsite facilities, including the shower blocks, were kept in excellent condition. Despite the campsite being full, we never had any issues with showering whenever we wanted, thanks to the multiple shower blocks available.
But the best part of our stay was the people. Geor and Elena treated us with such kindness and welcomed us with open arms. We will definitely be returning in the future.
