My friends and I stayed at this beach as part of a youth camp. Since there were quite a few of us, we had reserved the entire site. However, for larger groups, there were some challenges. There was no designated space for group activities in case of bad weather, so we were forced to stay indoors in the evening. Unfortunately, starting from around 9:00 p.m., the area became heavily infested with mosquitoes. This was likely due to a large pond on the site and nearby pools.
Overall, it seemed like the site was designed for smaller groups of around 30-40 people. There were two kitchens available. One kitchen, which was quite small, was combined with a scullery and could accommodate cooking for about 20 people. The functionality of the gas stoves in this kitchen was also unclear.
We ended up using the larger kitchen at the north end of the site, which was housed in a converted truck trailer. It had two gas burners, a roasting plate with gas, and a convection oven. There was also a washing machine and a small dishwasher. Initially, the roasting plate only partially worked and it took several days to get it repaired. Both kitchens had two refrigerators. While it was challenging and tiring to supply larger groups with food, it was not impossible. However, it seemed that the site was better suited for smaller groups who opted for full board meals.
In terms of preparation, it seemed that the owners were ill-prepared. It would be reasonable to expect them to inspect the premises before renting and ensure that all equipment is in working order or promptly repaired.
The large freezer and several refrigerators were also not fully available to us as they were filled with private groceries or leftovers from previous groups. This is something that the landlord should have taken care of in advance.
The various rooms and facilities were clean and well-maintained. However, the larger kitchen was not exactly clean or organized. We had to leave it tidier and cleaner than we found it.
The owners themselves were generally very laid-back, which sounds nice but can be problematic when issues arise, such as malfunctioning equipment.
Groups were offered the option to have groceries like meat, fruits/vegetables, and bread delivered by friendly companies. However, contrary to what the rental company claimed, this was not cheaper than purchasing the items ourselves from a supermarket. Additionally, the delivery service was consistently unreliable. We never knew when the delivery would arrive or what exactly would be included. For example, we ordered minced meat for 4 p.m. and only half of it was delivered. Instead of watermelons, we received smaller and fewer honeydew melons. There was also a false claim about a German baker who supposedly made gluten-free products, which turned out to be untrue. Even the baker himself was surprised by the origin of this myth.
In general, the area was okay, but in my opinion, it is more suitable for small groups or families.
