During the summer, it is quite beneficial to have this beach as one of the limited bathing areas available on the Küchensee. One aspect that stands out positively is the proper maintenance of garbage cans and nearby toilets. The only downside is the abundance of mosquitoes, which thrive in the dense plant life. Nevertheless, this should not be considered overly negative, as the lush vegetation adds a touch of vibrancy to the surroundings. While it may not be exceptionally remarkable, it is definitely worth checking out during the summer season.

The public swimming area at Aqua Siwa is supervised by the DLRG during the summer and offers a wonderful place to swim with calm lake water. In addition to a spacious beach, there is also plenty of green meadow area where you can relax. Unlike the main swimming area, this spot has ample shaded areas and a shallow entry into the water, making it ideal for non-swimmers. There are also play facilities for children, including swings, seesaw horses, a water feature, and a digger. Conveniently, there are public toilets nearby. However, it's worth noting that swans come ashore here daily, which is visually appealing but also leads to some excrement on the bank. This is regularly cleaned up in the summer, but not during autumn and winter. The only thing missing is a snack bar, so it's recommended to bring your own food and drinks. Overall, this swimming area is perfect for a full day outing with younger children. For older children around 10 years old, the main location may be more suitable. However, those who enjoy watching sunsets will find this spot particularly delightful, as the benches provide a fantastic view of the sun setting on the other side of the lake.

The bathing area at Ratzeburg's kitchen lake, located near the Aqua Siwa indoor pool, provides a public parking lot where you can park for up to 3 hours using a parking disc. However, it tends to fill up quickly. Additionally, campers have the option of a separate parking space for a fee. The bathing area is enclosed by a fence and is only accessible during specific hours. During peak usage times, there are trained lifeguards from the DLRG overseeing the safety of the swimmers. At the entrance of the bathing area, there is a public toilet facility available. The lawn surrounding the area is quite spacious and offers some shaded spots. As you enter the lake, you'll find a sandy beach with a gently sloping entrance and a solid sandy bottom. A floating line clearly marks the non-swimmer area, while buoys indicate the permitted swimming area beyond it.

The swimming area is fantastic. It has sandy beaches, meadows, and shaded spots under trees. The DLRG (German Lifeguard Association) and a security company ensure safety. It's not overcrowded, and there's a convenient toilet nearby. It's perfect for families with young kids, and there's even a small water feature and a swing. The ducks seem to enjoy it too. Overall, it's a truly wonderful little swimming area.
