The beach is a bit remote and not easily accessible, but as a result, it is peaceful and secluded. It might be a bit challenging to drive to with a large camper, but many people seem to manage it.
The beach offers everything you need, although we often drove half an hour to go grocery shopping. However, to be honest, the campsite supermarket (Proxi) has a good selection and prices are not much higher than the main supermarkets in town. Plus, you save the trip and the often frustrating wait at the checkout!
There are two main beaches that are clean and perfect for swimming, snorkeling, standup paddleboarding, windsurfing, or simply sunbathing. They are also well-protected, so even when the sea is rough, the beach remains calm and flat. A short walk south, outside the campsite, there are several small beaches with even clearer and bluer water. There is also a very popular sandy public beach that is a good 40-minute walk away, but definitely worth it. The swimming pool is very clean and a nice alternative. There is always a lifeguard present. Mini golf is available for free, I believe. The sauna is also a great bonus to relax at the end of the day, and it is open until 8pm, also free. In the evenings, there is often free live music in the restaurant.
We stayed in a bungalow in September, which was expensive but it was nice to have the luxury of a kitchen and our own bathroom. The camping ground is a large area, and it can be difficult to see where the pitches are, but they probably have a plan. The washing facilities provide everything you need, as expected, and there is even a designated area for showering dogs. They always seemed well-cleaned and maintained.
Don't trust booking websites that claim it is fully booked, give them a call. They speak English, German, Italian, and French. The reception is friendly. It seems like there is 24-hour security at the gate, and they closely monitor who enters and leaves. Cars have to stay in the car park (which is good), but you can briefly drive in, for example, to unload groceries, and on the first and last days of your stay for packing.
Overall, it is a fantastic place to stay and highly recommended. We hope to come back.
