Puntarenas boasts yet another awe-inspiring beach in Costa Rica. The beach stretches out endlessly, anchored to the north by the Rio Pirris, a large river that flows into the ocean. Many Ticos can be seen fishing in the river and adjacent ocean. The beach is perfect for surfing and biggie boarding during low tide. However, due to the rough surf, it is not recommended for swimming. The beach is dotted with beautiful trees that provide ample shade and privacy. After a day of sun and sand, head to Paritta where you can indulge in a delicious dinner at one of the many restaurants.

While some visitors seemed to be congregated near their hotels, it was easy to find a secluded spot to bask in the sun and soak up the peaceful atmosphere.
