Tokerau Beach

We had an amazing vacation with a stunning beach view from the 3-bedroom villa we rented. Although the couch in the villa wasn't comfortable, the spaciousness of the villa was perfect for our group of 6. Unfortunately, the outdoor bar had seats that were too low for the tables, making it quite uncomfortable to have dinner. On the bright side, the meals were fantastic, especially the raw fish dish which was absolutely divine. Additionally, the staff were very friendly.

The resort was lovely, appearing very well-maintained and organized. The restaurant, situated by the pool, was also quite pleasant. It was an ideal spot to enjoy a meal and a drink while the children played. Similar to the Rarotongan, they also offered a wide variety of daily activities for guests. The only drawback is that the beach is not on the same level as the rest of the resort, requiring guests to descend a flight of steps to reach it. This may pose a challenge for children and individuals with disabilities who have difficulty accessing it. All in all, it is a pleasant place to stay.

We had a fantastic time during our stay. The garden view room we stayed in was one of the newer ones and was exceptionally clean. The staff at the hotel were absolutely amazing, especially the guys at the Activity hut who were both talented and helpful. The location of Edgewater was very convenient as it was close to the bus stop. The food at the hotel exceeded our expectations in terms of value. It had a great selection of Kiwi tucker. The kids club was absolutely awesome, and once again, the staff there were amazing.

I highly recommend this beach! The staff were absolutely delightful! Initially, we had reserved a garden room but we requested an upgrade to the beachfront rooms. Amazingly, they graciously granted our request as a wedding gift 🥹. Additionally, they even allowed us to check out later due to our wedding. We are extremely grateful to The Edgewater Resort for making our vacation the most incredible experience 💕.

The breakfast provided was a basic continental style, but it was enough for a family and a good way to start the day. Considering its age, the hotel was kept clean and organized. It was a pleasant place to stay for families with young kids. Snorkeling was possible right by the beach, but it's important to note that the waves can be intense, resulting in a strong current. All in all, it was a worthwhile experience for the price.
