On the morning in February 2020, my spouse and I took a stroll along the beach from our lodgings at Jetwing Surf, all the way to Pottuvil Point. The beach was pristine and almost empty at that time of day. As we gazed out towards the eastern sky, we were fortunate enough to witness the sunrise. However, due to the monsoon season, the sea was tumultuous and had eroded certain parts of the beach. We had to navigate around these areas by moving further inland. Additionally, the fishing boats were anchored high up on the shore as the rough seas made fishing impossible.
Despite the rough seas, Pottuvil Point was a breathtaking location, with waves crashing against the rocks adorned with green moss. During the surfing season, this spot is a popular destination for tourists seeking to catch some waves.
