I cannot recommend this place as it needs improvement in numerous areas. The property itself is good, and most of the staff were friendly, but that’s not enough. The pool was nice, but the pool boys need proper training. They were present but never offered pool towels or sun bed mattresses to the guests. By the time guests were done, the pool boys were nowhere to be found to provide towels. They should be trained to bring out towels as guests arrive at the pool. The gardeners have done a good job, and the rooms are good, but it seems no one has checked their condition. Most of the AC units weren’t in good working order. The front desk needs a second cash operator because when we were in a hurry to check out, the cash operator wasn’t there, and we had to wait. Additionally, gloomy Sri Lankan songs were played in the restaurant, which didn’t contribute to a memorable experience for the guests. Overall, hotel management needs to make significant improvements. I cannot recommend this place to anyone.

My recent stay at the Anantaya Resort and Spa Chilaw was truly outstanding. From the moment we arrived, the staff greeted us with warmth and hospitality, making us feel instantly at ease. Their kindness and professionalism set a positive tone for our entire visit. The hotel itself is impeccably maintained, featuring spacious, comfortable rooms and first-rate amenities. Whether we were lounging by the immaculate pool, savoring a delicious meal at the on-site restaurant, or simply unwinding in our well-appointed rooms, we had plenty of enjoyable options to fill our time. In summary, the Anantaya Resort and Spa Chilaw provides a perfect mix of luxury and comfort, further enhanced by the attentive and friendly staff. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a relaxing and memorable getaway.

The location is excellent. I had no problems with the rooms; they were spacious. I stayed for 2 days. However, there was an issue with the drinking water—they only provided a minimal amount, about 2-3 500ml bottles per day. The pool wasn't very clean, and the cleaning staff were quite rude. The pool closes around 7:30 pm. As for the food, it was just alright but fell short of my expectations. There were only a few options to choose from, which was also an issue.

This raised concerns about the hotel's overall hygiene standards. The quality of food in the restaurant was also lacking. The selection was limited, and what was available lacked taste. Additionally, the presentation of the dishes was unappealing, further detracting from the dining experience. The only redeeming aspect of our stay was the picturesque view provided by the hotel. However, beyond this, I was thoroughly disappointed with the value for money offered by this hotel. In summary, my experience was marred by unfriendly staff, inadequate cleanliness, and subpar dining options. I personally wouldn't recommend this hotel.
