To be honest, we were a bit let down by Gros Joncs beach. While it was nice, we found ourselves preferring Rivedoux-Plage, particularly the southern section. If you're coming from the bridge, just take a left turn to get there. All in all, Gros Joncs was just okay, not amazing.
This beach is a wonderful spot for families, with a large marine area to explore. During low tide, you can uncover hidden marine life and enjoy the beautiful beach. The volunteer or staff rescuers are extremely friendly and we are grateful for their daily surveillance efforts. Let's work together to preserve this beautiful part of France!
We were quite disappointed with our visit to this beach. We had planned a short bike ride with our children from our nearby accommodations. However, we were not encouraged by the water treatment plant on the way. To our dismay, we found horse excrement all along the trail leading to the beach. Upon arriving at the beach, we encountered bags of trash scattered around. If you're looking to swim, I would suggest finding another beach. This one is quite rocky and not ideal for swimming. We were the only ones there for a while, and now we understand why. π
