This beach is a serene and picturesque haven, perfect for those seeking a quieter escape from the hustle and bustle of other popular beaches like Chitara and Chiaia. To get here, I hopped on the Line 1 bus from South Forio to San Montana, which was a scenic 20-minute ride that only cost €1.50. It's worth noting that the bus can get quite crowded, so it's best to give yourself ample time to get there. As some have mentioned, there is both a paid and free section of the beach. I opted to save some money and found a cozy spot under the shaded wall on the far left from the entrance. However, there are only a limited number of these spots available (around 20-30), so it's best to arrive early if you want to snag one. The shade does expand throughout the day as the sun moves, so even if you can't find a spot in the shade initially, you may be able to later on. One thing to keep in mind is that there aren't any small shops selling personal umbrellas or parasols like you might find at Chitara or Chiaia, so come prepared if you want to bring your own. Lastly, there's a fantastic canteen and snack bar with plenty of hot food options to keep you fueled up for a day of relaxation and fun in the sun. Overall, this beach is a must-visit for anyone looking for a tranquil and serene beach experience.
Yesterday, we had a splendid time at the beach. We opted to rent an umbrella with two chairs from Nonna Carmela, a cozy restaurant that overlooks the beach. It was a wise decision because it was convenient to have access to drinks, coffee, and restrooms. We arrived at around 9 am, and we were the first ones to settle in this area. We spent about eight hours at the beach, and even at its peak around 11 am, it wasn't overcrowded. Though most of the umbrellas were already taken, there were still some available. The water was warm and crystal clear, as evidenced by the photo we took. We saw many families and older people around, and the beach was immaculate. There were no loud music, partying, or Instagrammers, which was fantastic. We had a fantastic time soaking up the sun and enjoying the sea.
