Maria Jimenez Beach was my absolute favorite! The sand was soft and smooth, and there were no rocks in the water or on the shore - it was perfect for a great time. What's more, the beach was easy to access, making it even more enjoyable!
It's a shame that the beach is closed. We could see it from a distance and it looked beautiful. If it was open, it would have been a great experience to spend some time there. However, getting to the beach is no small task - it's a long walk from Puerto de la Cruz and the roads to get there are quite narrow. So, you may want to think twice before making the trip.
This place may not be as tranquil as the beaches on the west side, as the sea is a bit rougher. But it still has its own charm, with its black sand and worth spending a day at.
Not an easy place to get to - the steep cliffs act as a barrier, making it difficult to get down to the ocean. Climbing without experience or local guidance is not recommended. Even if you can't get down to the beach, the view from the top of the cliffs is still stunning. It feels like being in another world, but getting to the beach is a challenge.
