In all fairness this resort should not have opened. The food I expected was 5/10 as always in Cuba. However, this resort is a2/10 at best. This resort is highly recommended if you are looking for a week of fasting. Whatever your expectations are you need to lower them considerably. There are very few vacationers here, staff are nice but, very slow to service the guests. Some staff are in the ball but, not many. Beach is very good, not quite as clean as it should be. Pools need repair. Rooms need renovations. There are just too many better options available. Do yourself a favour, go somewhere else. Sunwing was delayed leaving 4 hours , poor service there too. Lack of leadership at this hotel, too many people not interested in working. It’s all about service and meeting expectations. This hotel misses on everything. There is no entertainment, no food, limited drinks. If you like steamed carrots for breakfast, this is the place for you. No buffet, a la cart restaurants only,. Italian night , not a stitch of garlic anywhere. Tomato soup to start, pasta tossed with the same tomato soup, served with a dry tasteless piece of overbooked bird. Pictures are from the breakfast they offer. I spent more money than we have ever spent on a Cuba vacation. We have been 4 times previous . This is the worst experience, most money, biggest disappointment, overall sad. I have too add with less than 200 vacationers at the hotel you would expect great service at the bar. Forget it, the service is poor at best. I watched new vacationers arrive, sit in the bar and wait 10 minutes for a drink. And forget a second drink. They have no Crystal beer, super poor selection of spirits, mix up how to make cafe latte and cappuccino. The front desk is useless, the agent at the customer service does not know anything and h I s not helpful. Shame on Sunwing for taking our money! My family left the resort daily and went to restaurants and attended Grand Memories resort where the service is much better and the food is a solid 6/10 which is great for Cuba. Now for the bugs, sand fleas, bed bugs, mosquitoes count on all of them. I am covered in bites literally from head to toe. This was supposed to be a great vacation, we were looking forward to it and it was terrible! Can’t eat there, can’t sleep there, and can’t drink. Don’t buy anything at the Cuba duty free at the airport. It costs you more . Bottles of liquor at cheaper in Canada. They have no Cohiba cigars best they have monte Christo number 2 at 475.00 US . There is no deal there. I’ve been to Cuba 5 times this is the worst by far. I go for the beach and they have a great beach but, I will never return. Sunwing delayed the flight going to Cuba more than 4 hours which makes us lose half a day of vacation. After 3 hours you are supposed to be compensated. That did not happen. Delayed flight coming home . Sunwing ran out of snacks on the plane coming home . They were only able to provide snacks to half of the passengers. And they charge for these snacks s as bd it’s not cheap. Nobody accepts accountability nor do they take responsibility. Sunwing takes your money and forgets you. The trip they charged me was over 1700.00 per person same vacation now 950.00. Don’t tip anyone until you see the service you get. Giving tips does not get you better service! Save your money. I’m so disgusted and disappointed with the experience from start to finish. Complete waste of money. No entertainment either snd the poor kids had nothing to eat. The hotel gives 3 French fries with a sandwich bread once slice of ham and one slice of cheese. I have to stop soon but, I want to give as much info as possible. Also, the hotel on Facebook would not post my wife’s comments. You can only say positive things if you want it posted. A true dictatorship. Lol terrible value at any price. They could have offered me a week for free and it’s still not worth staying.
